Rhodes Island DatcaTurkey Rhodes Island Itinerary

Day 1: RHODES ISLAND, GREECE
Board the yacht in Rhodes Harbour from 15:30 onwards. Today you can have your breakfast and lunch ashore at one of the cosy tavernas on the island. Tonight, dine on the aft deck of your gulet. Earlier today you could visit the old town of Rhodes, located next to Rhodes harbour or hike to Rhodes Acropolis and a temple and an ancient stadium. If you choose to take this hike, you can leave your luggage at a suitable place until you join the gulet for dinner and overnight rest. There will be time to explore this charming town - with its wide selection of shops, cafes and tavernas - after dinner on board.

Day 2: BOZBURUN, TURKEY
After breakfast on board whilst in Rhodes we depart to Bozburun. Bozburun is a small fishing village set among islets and inlets, quite a sport for taking the nicest pictures! After arrival in Bozburun a freshly prepared lunch will be served on board. Bozburun was once the sponge-fishing capital of Turkey but is now regarded as one of the country’s boat-building centres. To spend an exciting day a jeep safari could be organized if there are enough participants. If not, there will be time to explore this little port - with its small selection of shops and cafes - after dinner on board.

Day 3: HISARONU BAY, TURKEY
After breakfast in Bozburun, move on to beautiful Hisaronu Bay for swimming and watersports. Take a walk ashore or relax on a pebbled beach in Selimiye village or nearby, anchoring alongside a small quay, close to the village. Selimiye is a farming and fishing community, situated along the shores of a large bay and offers a superb backdrop - featuring well-rounded hills that descend through olive groves and almond orchards to the shore. Stop for lunch and a swim before moving on to the overnight anchorage. In the afternoon, your gulet will move on to Bencik Bay, tucked alongside the shore, at the entrance to the bay of Hisaronu, dividing two bays: Hisaronu and Gokova. Bencik is the best anchorage from which to take the hike to the remains of ancient Cnidus and Persians. Overnight in Bencik Bay, with dinner onboard, under the stars.

Day 4: DATCA, TURKEY
From Bencik sail to Datca;
Today begins with a sail along the eastern side of the Datca Peninsula with a delicious healthy breakfast on board and perhaps a visit to the town of Datca for sightseeing in old Datca town. The island has no humidity at all and has fresh air with plenty of oxygen. The historian Strabon has a rightful saying about Datca's weather: "God would send his beloved servants to Datça to live longer". In the afternoon after your lunch on board, you could explore Datca on your own or join an optional city tour. Your captain will finalize the necessary formalities to go back to Greek islands. Dine on board tonight in Datca or nearest bay to enjoy the finest local specialities.

Day 5: NSYROS ISLAND, GREECE
Early departure for the volcanic island of Nsyros, after breakfast on board, on the way will stop for swimming and lunch in Yali. Upon arrival on Nsyros island enjoy some free time for sightseeing in town or rent a car to visit the vicinity of the crater. Although our visit to the island can be moved to the next day depending on the weather. The captain will be making any necessary adjustments to ensure your comfort and safety on board of the gulet. Dinner will be served on board under the clear skies.

Day 6: SYMI ISLAND, GREECE
Symi is yet another charming island, unique in its own nature and architectural design, forming an amphitheatre around the harbour. We visit the island of Symi today, with a leisurely morning or an early afternoon of swimming and perhaps some kayaking around the bay. Later this afternoon after lunch on board your gulet will arrive to anchor at the port of Symi and stay overnight. Please have your cameras ready for wonderful images of this small fairy-tale like island. Your dinner will be served here on board, yet is you wish to dine ashore by yourselves, please inform the captain in advance. All of the tavernas on Symi are very tempting to your taste buds and the captain will understand your choice.

Day 7: RHODES ISLAND, GREECE
After breakfast in Symi island we will make our way back to the famous island of Rhodes. After we arrive lunch is served on board, later you can take another trip ashore that will bring some rewarding discoveries - among them, the fabulous view of the old town on the Greek island of Rhodes. Enjoy another excellent meal on board tonight.

Day 8: RHODES ISLAND, GREECE
Enjoy an early morning swim from the beach / your gulet ashore, followed by a delicious Mediterranean breakfast of fresh local bread, olives and white cheese, pine honey and quince jam, sliced spiced sausage and eggs and many, many servings of hot Turkish tea served in tulip-shaped glasses or cups.

Disembark in Rhodes.

HIGHLITES OF THE TOUR:

Bencik - its local name being “Where the fish jump over”.

Symi’s charm of traditional houses, most painted in warm pastel colours and built amphitheatrically around the port, are motive of numerous postcards and posters.

Major ancient findings on Rhodes island, the old town center, the castle and the windmills of Rhodes. There is much to be seen on Rhodes as it constituted a leading force in the area for 140 years (up to 79 A.D.) Rhodes was a dominant state and a major marine force.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Cruise itineraries are given as a general guide only and may have to be changed without prior notice and are dependent on weather and docking conditions. Your captain has the final say.
